At Last

1. Love Will Find A Way

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

Such a simple thing prayer - talking from your broken heart Knowing someone loves you dearly - hears and heals you from the start Hey - I talk to God and often - and then I talk again Some have loved and some have left but He's always been my friend
Hey - it may seem as though you can't go on - can't even face another day of loneliness and sorrow but don't throw it away Hey I've been there - and burned the tee-shirt - now through it all I say Don't give up - God is Love - and Love will find a way
love will find a way, love will find a way, love will find a way (2)
In my youth I made some errors - gave away a precious thing and yet He never did abandon me - He understood what pressures bring Yeah - I talk to God and often - He's helped me understand When no one else was there to comfort me - that's when he took my hand
Hey - it may seem as though you can't go on - can't even face another day of loneliness and sorrow but don't throw it away Hey I've been there burned the tee-shirt - now through it all I say Don't give up - God is Love - and Love will find a way
Such a simple thing to pray just say it from your heart
Now at last I see an answer - yeah He listened all along. My life he's given back to me - I will praise him more in song Yeah - I talk to God and often - and He listened all the while He raised me up - caressed my soul - replaced my tears with smiles.
Hey - it may seem as though you can't go on - can't even face another day of loneliness and sorrow but don't throw it away Hey I've been there burned the tee-shirt - now through it all I say Don't give up - God is Love - and Love will find a way
love will find a way, love will find a way, love will find a way, No Don't give up love will find a way, love will find a way, God will save the day
Don't give up - God is Love - and Love will find, Love will find, Love will find a way.

2. You Won't Believe It's True

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

Through the sunshine - through the rain I'll give you laughter - take your pain You won't believe it's true - but I love you Through the sadness - through the heartache - I will always stand by you. You won't believe it's true - but I do - I love you
It may take me some time to show you that I can love you 'cause your heart's been cut deep and the wound just won't heal But your heart can still live - you can find this out if you want to Girl if you'll just take a chance, I could show you romance I'll be tender with you
Through the sunshine - through the rain I'll give you laughter - take your pain You won't believe it's true - but I love you Through the sadness - through the heartache - I will always stand by you. You won't believe it's true - but I do - I love you
So if you want to you can run - but when the day and night is done I'll be back with the sun waiting to tell you
Through the sunshine - through the rain I'll give you laughter - take your pain You won't believe it's true - but I love you Through the sadness - through the heartache - I will always stand by you. You won't believe it's true - but I do - I love you - I love you - I love you

3. Learning To Love

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

Still talking with an open heart - open like the sunshine -beaming out in rays Still walking on the narrow road - but with a lighter load - I'm hoping for some new days
And I'm free now - 'cause I'm learning to love you without pain - for no gain. I can be me now - learning to love - love me, love you, love life
Still praying for you night and day - sending out an angel where I cannot go. Still hoping somewhere down the line your heart will start to shine - I'm hoping for a rainbow.
But I'm free now 'cause I'm learning to give for giving sake - not to take I can believe now - learning to love - love me, love you, love life
I still can't abandon my heart's strong conviction - laid solid when I fell into your eyes I felt your love when through my lonely heart's eviction - You took me in and painted rainbows in my skies.
And I'm free now - 'cause I'm learning to love you without pain - for no gain. I can be me now - learning to love - love me, love you, love life
Still want to be a better man - praying for the wisdom - I swallow down my cup Still want to be the very best - what should I lay to rest -what should I try to wake up.
But I'm free now - learning that love endures - it's for sure. I can believe now - 'cause love never fails - love me, love you , love life.
I still can't abandon my heart's strong conviction - laid solid when I fell into your eyes I felt your love when through my lonely heart's eviction - You took me in and painted rainbows in my skies.
And I'm free now - learning to love you without pain - for no gain. I can believe now - learning to love - love me, love you, love life

4. Saving All These Sad Songs

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

I was hopin' you could save me - I've been wondrin' what to do You see I've written all these sad songs and each one's for you. I've been told to write some dance songs - told that they're the ones that pay And though I'm trying to forget you, this feeling won't go away
Yeah I've been saving all these sad songs hoping you would understand That it won't have to be a sad song if you'll take my hand.
I've been saving all the memories - painting you with every word And though to everyone I'm crazy - it seems absurd I tell them how your hair would glisten and of your eyes of china blue Oh if only you would listen to my songs for you.
Yeah I've been saving all these sad songs hoping you would understand That it won't have to be a sad song if you'll take my hand. (Instrumental) Yeah I've been saving all these sad songs hoping you would understand That it won't have to be a sad song if you'll take my hand. Yeah I've been saving all these sad songs hoping you would understand That it won't have to be a sad song if you'll take my hand.

5. Be Positive

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

(Changing) They say it's down to attitude - it's really all up to your mood Whether your life's looking bright or dull Well now with all that's going on - and this is why I wrote this song My glass looks more half empty than it's ever looked half full
Well now, nothing's changing. Nothing's new and your day won't turn to night But by simply changing your point of view Yeah just by being positive - you can change the black to white
While wasting all my afternoon and trying hard to change my tune My gloominess just wouldn't set me free. My bad day turned into a year while I've been choking on my tears and the best thing I can do I fear is work up an apathy :-)
Well now, nothing's changing. Nothing's new and your day won't turn to night But by simply changing your point of view Yeah just by being positive - you can change the black to white
It's hard to take one of those days - your drive got up and drove away Your get-up-and-go got up to leave But even when those clouds look gray, it's not that bad or so they say and you can still enjoy the day, though it may be hard to believe.
But now, nothing's changing. Nothing's new and your day won't turn to night But by simply changing your point of view Yeah just by being positive - you can change the black to white
The best that you can do is change your point of view
But now, nothing's changing. Nothing's new and your day won't turn to night But by simply changing your point of view Yeah just by being positive - Yeah just by being positive Yeah just by being positive - you can change the black to white

6. A Sort Of Warm Feeling

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

Just as when the poets sing and write a love's refrain With all the rhymes that reason bring and yet they can't explain I don't think it can be put down in words Still I think these butterflies inside - I think they're yours.
It's a sort of warm feeling - when I mention your name A sort of warm feeling - I know you feel the same A sort of warm feeling - to know that you are there with a sort of warm feeling we can share - a sort of warm feeling
Feel as though I'm in a daydream - thrown away my fear So much so to some it may seem I'm not really here It makes me feel so good my heart is beaming Pinch me now so I can realise I'm not dreaming
It's a sort of warm feeling - when I mention your name A sort of warm feeling - I know you feel the same A sort of warm feeling - to know that you are there with a sort of warm feeling we can share - a sort of warm feeling (Repeat chorus and intro)

7. What Has Been Getting You Down

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

There is no reason for a show - no use in hiding when you're low I think I know you better - you feel under the weather Just what has been getting you down, dear what is making you frown? You know I'll always be around.
I suppose you don't think it matters to me - Without a word you just go straight to sleep. And so I'm left trying to reach for your heart by writing this song. Well there we are now, I knew you'd see sense - I'm not attacking so don't try defence Just drink this cuppa sit here with your friend and tell me what's wrong.
There is no reason for a show - no use in hiding when you're low I think I know you better - you feel under the weather Just what has been getting you down, dear what is making you frown? You know I'll always be around.
It doesn't matter how long you've been trying - try once again, this time harder And it don't matter how often you cry 'cause you'll never get rid of all that sorrow Wait 'til tomorrow oh oh
There is no reason for a show - no use in hiding when you're low I think I know you better - you feel under the weather Just what has been getting you down, dear what is making you frown? You know I'll always be around.
I just can't tell you how precious you are - Why even music and my good guitar of which you know dear I treasure, I'd part with them gladly for you. So don't you worry dear, don't even fret. Whatever you need you know that I'll get And please remember your close and dear friends - yeah they can help too.
(repeat Chorus) I'll stay around. I'll stay around.

8. No Way I'm Falling For Your Smile

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

There was a time when I would fall so hard so deep and like a fool imagine everything's OK But there's a kindness hard to find (so hard to keep) A kind of beauty you don't notice straight away
So I'm not falling for your pretty face I won't fall into the heaven in your eyes I'm not falling for your lips and pretty lace Even though you may have dazed me for a while Yeah most of all no way I'm falling for your smile.
Though something makes me turn to see your lovely hair that shines and takes my breath away to watch you walk There's no debating - you have all the curves and lines But you have yet to pour your heart out when you talk
So I'm not falling for your pretty face I won't fall into the heaven in your eyes I'm not falling for your lips and pretty lace Even though you may have dazed me for a while Yeah most of all no way I'm falling for your smile.
It's not as if you even noticed - Yeah if I leave I won't be missed No don't think that I haven't noticed That you're not even aware that I exist - yeah yeah yeah yeah
Do do do do doot do da do . . .
No I'm not falling for your pretty face I won't fall into the heaven in your eyes You can't impress me with your lips and pretty lace Even though you may have dazed me for a while Yeah most of all no way I'm falling for your smile.
I'm not falling for your smile. I'm not falling for your pretty face I'm not falling for your smile. I'm not falling for your pretty face

9. At Last (Wedding Song)

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

Slip your hand into my palm - I'll hold you gentle on your hip Because it's now time for embracing - yes it's time to laugh and skip And we'll dance a party dance although I'll feel it in slow motion Although the crowded room is full we'll be alone out on our ocean at last - at last you are mine.
Your absence hasn't made me fonder - but most surely I have grown As you have learned to be yourself so too I've learned to be alone The growth of love takes time and patience - and it's not without its pain But here at last we reap the harvest - time for sunshine after rain.
at last - at last - at last - at last you are mine Yeah you are mine. Yeah you are mine Yeah you are mine
And how I've waited for this moment - the time for weeping now is past And yet my eyes well up with tears - but these are tears of joy at last See my love's laughter in my eyes - but now it's deeper than before For everything you want to be I want to help you be and more
at last - at last - at last - at last you are mine Yeah you are mine. mmmmm you are mine Yeah you are mine
Flesh of my flesh - you are mine Bone of my bones- Yeah you are mine Flesh of my flesh - you are mine Bone of my bones- Yeah you are mine flesh of my flesh - bone of my bones Now you are mine and I am yours

10. Spilt Milk

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

Here I am again afloat down this stream, thinking about the fool I've always been This stream of thought that seems to drain all my zest and forever puts my love of life to the test
But there's no sense in weeping over the past There's no sense in sleeping while life just falls away fast I'm gonna reach out while life's in my grasp taking one step at a time I'm gonna take a step at a time - one step at a time.
So when I find myself afloat down this stream thinking about the fool that I've always been. I quickly turn my thoughts on what has to come So as not to linger on the wrongs I have done
But there's no sense in weeping over the past There's no sense in sleeping while life just falls away fast I'm gonna reach out while life's in my grasp taking one step at a time I'm gonna take a step at a time But there's no sense in weeping over the past There's no sense in sleeping while life just falls away fast You've gotta reach out while life's in my grasp taking one step at a time You've gotta take a step at a time - (Lead)
But there's no sense in weeping over the past There's no sense in sleeping while life just falls away fast I'm gonna reach out while life's in my grasp taking one step at a time I'm gonna take a step at a time
And there's every reason why I should go slowly 'Cause I've been so wrong - I've been so wrong.
But there's no sense in weeping over the past There's no sense in sleeping while life just falls away fast I'm gonna reach out while life's in my grasp taking one step at a time I'm gonna take a step at a time - one step at a time.

11. Dream Of Peace Free

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

Of all the dreams I ever have I know there's one that keeps returning like the seasons - like the morning sun And even now I know I only have to close my eyes to find those vivid scenes will flow through my mind
If there's a reason or a rhyme in this season and this time There has got to be a future of peace. There is a WILL so there's a way it can be better than today It's my dream that every war will cease
You say I'm mad but I don't dream this dream alone In many hearts the hope for peace - yes it has surely grown and when I gaze upon the order in a starry sky I know we can't be left on our own
There has got to be a future of peace. There is a WILL so there's a way it can be better than today It's my dream that every war will cease
We have to learn - there is no other way We hope and yearn for peace We have to learn - don't waste another day As we learn then our love will increase.
Of all the dreams I ever have I know there's one that keeps returning like the seasons - like the morning sun And even now I know I only have to close my eyes to find those vivid scenes will flow through my mind
If there's a reason or a rhyme in this season and this time There has got to be a future of peace. There is a WILL so there's a way it can be better than today It's my dream that every war, and killing is no more It's my dream that every war will cease

12. Tuck Me In (Lullaby For Grown-Ups)

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

Tuck me in nice 'n' warm keep me safe and cosy. I don't feel so good today. Tuck me in 'round my back - right down to my toeseys I don't want to work and don't want to play Close the door - get the light - and then pull the curtain and sit down by my side Today I want to hide -while you stand guard and make the world go away.
Tuck me hold me close and then rock me slowly until I'm sound asleep Tuck me in sing a song - sing it soft and low - with your kind gentle voice I'll go under deep
There were times when my courage could move a mountain Today it up-n-died - and now I need to hide While you stand guard and chase the world away (instrumental)
There were times when my courage could move a mountain Today it up-n-died - and now I need to hide While you stand guard and chase the world away
Tomorrow maybe I will have the strength - but don't make me face the world today. Mmmmmm and I won't forget your kindness - No I won't forget you came When your weak then you will find this - I will be there - I will tuck you in - I will love you just the same.
(Mmmmm that's nice and cosy)

1. The Lake Of 31 Miles

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

Composer's Note: I wrote this song while on a break with friends in a cabin in Quebec, Canada. I drove up from Brockville through Ottawa. The song lyric has pretty much all the details to navigate to there.
Took the 105 north out of Ottawa to Maniwaki Turned off at Bouchette then left over le pont Lingered a while watching the Gatineau flow Wondering 'where does it go?' Cruising and taking it slow ..
.. here out in Quebec and I've no fear Smiling, not even a small tear here where creation is strong harmony holding the song everyone singing along
Moving on slow through dusty roads weaving and winding Heading across to "The lake of thirty-one miles" Sun going down - finally reaching the end Smiling I'm greeted by friends Looks like it's gonna be slow ..
.. here out in Quebec and I've no fear Smiling, not even a small tear here where creation is strong harmony holding the song everyone singing along
Loon on the lake - Allan and Michael are swimming Bethel and Vaughan are finishing reading their books Linda and Gwen are winning each other at word games We're here in the wild but it's so tame Everyone's taking it slow ..
.. here out in Quebec and I've no fear Smiling, not even a small tear here where creation is strong harmony holding the song everyone singing along
Content 'round the fire on the shore you can hear the lake lapping singing our songs as we muse with the starry stars looking on. Mike makes us laugh with his line in the alphabet game for this joy and this moment we came And dancing the fireflies glow ..
.. here out in Quebec and we've no fear Smiling, not even a small tear here where creation is strong harmony holding the song everyone singing along

2. I Would Have Given It All

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

Just couldn't stop thinkin' then – it doesn't seem right With you there and me here alone in the night. I felt I should be there – I should hold you tight Just walk and talk into the daylight. And now it's only fair that you should know … I would have given it all.
I would have given you everything
(all that you wanted – more than you needed)
Even more than gold and diamond rings
(all that you wanted or needed)
I would have given you all my love
(all that you wanted – more than you needed)
We could have shared the stars above
(all that you wanted or needed)
Even so y'know, I'm glad you came. Nobody's wrong or right – no one's to blame You can't love me that way 'though – it's such a shame. It only works if you feel the same. And now it's only fair that you should know … I would have given it all
I would have given you everything
(all that you wanted – more than you needed)
Even more than gold and diamond rings
(all that you wanted or needed)
I would have given you all my love
(all that you wanted – more than you needed)
We could have shared the stars above
(all that you wanted or needed)
On my love – you could float – and just sail away – I would have given it all
I would have given you everything
(all that you wanted – more than you needed)
Even more than gold and diamond rings
(all that you wanted or needed)
Seasons turn and there may come a day – maybe for someone else you'll feel this way Then you may understand the things I say – You'll want to give them love always. And when you feel that way you'll surely know - I would have given it all
I would have given you everything
(all that you wanted – more than you needed)
Even more than gold and diamond rings
(all that you wanted or needed)
I would have helped you live all your dreams
(all that you wanted – more than you needed)
Made your life golden – more than sunlight beams
(all that you wanted or needed)
I would have learned to sing all your songs
(all that you wanted – more than you needed)
And sing and serenade all night long
(all that you wanted or needed)
I only lived to make your life shine
(all that you wanted – more than you needed)
I only wished you wanted to be mine but that was more than you wanted or needed!

3. Faithful Music

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

Composer's Note: Whatever our mood or circumstance, music can be like a loyal and faithful friend who laughs or cries with us or console us when needed.
If your heart is starving or at a banquet all the time Where love supplies the food and music is the wine Alone then - turned inside out - feel you want to hide That's when the music's by your side That's when the music's by your side
When every break's a fracture and even sun brings rain The light down at the end is a fast approaching train When they're gone - there's no love left - your heart needs time to mend. That's when the music is your friend That's when the music is your friend
Yeah Just like a friend - always understands Smiles along then sad when you're blue Even at the end - who is left to stand? Faithful music still shines through for you.
When their hot love boils over - evaporates like steam Left to live the nightmare instead of all your dreams Still here to rock you gently - soothing you to sleep That's when the music lets you weep. That's when the music lets you weep.
When every break's a fracture and even sun brings rain The light down at the end is a fast approaching train When they're gone - there's no love left - your heart needs time to mend. Why not let the music is your friend Yeah for now just let the music is your friend

4. On The Inside

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

See the man with the chequered flag waving to-and-fro – moral man is lagging behind (behind) Near the finish the bomb is winning – love steps aside or is crushed with national pride (with pride) Humans are losing the human race now – so many have already lost So many lives empty, wasted somehow – nobody wants to count the cost.
Then (as if in parenthesis) see the beaming light in the genesis of a love (a love) Microscopic to humankind but then they don’t really expect to find it above (above) Nobody’s thinking of tomorrow now – Can we be sure of today? Building war towers where men used to plough and rain washing all the soil away
Oh oh oh outside it appears to be something but what a mess – on the inside! This system appears to stand so tall but see it crawl – on the inside! We must change not just appearance but the man we are – on the inside! I must change not just the words I say but all my thoughts – on the inside!
(sing verse and refrain in counterpoint)
On the inside – on the inside – on the inside!

5. I Want A Real Moon

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

Composer's Note: I heard it said once that moths normally navigate using the moon as a guide. When they come across an artificial light source in the dark it throws them off course and they end up continually burning themselves on the light. Meanwhile they fail to get where they want to go. I couldn't help but feel this was a good analogy of humans (well OK me :-) trying to navigate through life without a true source of reference. We can't rely on our own understanding as so often this has been made slightly askew from our upbringing or bad experiences. Really, we are only going to hurt ourselves by trying to navigate through life without a true reference to keep us set on the right course. Be it from a close friend, or the Bible or whatever, we all need readjustment from time to time from a TRUE source.
Just like a moth around a flame at night, I was absolutely wrong And I was dying in the process while I wrote it down in song Still I'd keep coming back for the burning - if I didn't wake real soon And learn to navigate, it's gonna take a real moon
I wanna real moon. I wanna real moon If it's not too late to navigate I wanna real moon
We had a talk about our feelings - She was absolutely right And soon the time had slipped away and so her day became our night Upon the rocks a ship can be wrecked - and then your heart can be marooned Unless within your sight is the guiding light of a real moon.
I wanna real moon. I wanna real moon If it's not too late to navigate I wanna real moon
'just take the good and then forget about the bad' You'll be far more sane to know that everyone is mad!
I wanna ask someone directions - just to be absolutely sure Or at least relieve the symptoms if for now there is no cure And if it's true no man's an island - well then I've run too far too soon No artificial light can guide me right - I need a real moon.
I wanna real moon. I wanna real moon If it's not too late to navigate I wanna real moon I wanna real moon. I wanna real moon If it's not too late to navigate I wanna real moon

6. Guard Your Heart

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

Composer's Note: A knife can be used by an enemy to stab you or by a surgeon to save you. So in truth whether you have the tools or not to kill it is really the intentions, the motivations, that bring about killing or war. These stem from the heart and therefore 'above all things' we should 'guard our heart'. Certainly, given mankind's propensity for anger and violence, some would say that having easy access to weapons is perhaps not the wisest situation to put yourself in.
It was a cool sharp blade that cut him through - seems he didn't have a chance mmmmm No more party days or sunshine rays or nights out at the dance mmmmmm With skill the knife was wielded with a calculated thrust So down the victim fell with all his future in the dust
While it seems at first the sharpened knife blood spills It's not the weapon in the hand but the broken heart that kills. It's not the weapon in the hand but the broken heart that kills.
It was a cool sharp blade that cut him through - some say he didn't have a chance mmmmm Yet friends and loved ones prayed that God would save him with this lance mmmmmm With skill the knife was wielded with determined will precise So snatched out of the grave he rose and paid the surgeon's price.
While it seems at first the sharpened knife blood spills It's not the weapon in the hand but the broken heart that kills.
Take away the guns and bombs and even knives but still Sickened hearts would then resort to bare hands to kill But take away the sickness, hate and all the prejudice disarm If hearts are filled with love they cannot motivate to harm.
While it seems at first the sharpened knife blood spills It's not the weapon in the hand but the broken heart that kills. It's not the weapon in the hand but the broken heart that kills.

7. Reaching Out For A Hand

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

Unsteady baby walks. She reaches for a hand. She's feeling more secure now someone's holding on - holding on. And no one likes to fall - or even feel the fear But if you reach for me there I'll be holding on - holding on.
Our life is full of times uncertain as the wind blows We have to grasp the nettle - live life before it goes from our hand.
It safer not to walk and safer not to choose But then you're left behind with no one holding on - holding on So take some baby steps and face up to your fear Right here until you do I will be holding on - holding on.
Our life is full of dreams and hopes for our tomorrow We have to grasp the nettle - live life before it goes from our hand.
Reaching out for a hand I'd like to quench your fear - But have some of my own If I tried to leave, I'd like to think you would be holding on - holding on. Choose life - choose joy - take some steps and move on Reaching out for a hand. (repeat and fade)

8. Sunshine And Hope

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

Composer's Note: What is it about the sun that makes people feel good? Could it be that even at a subconscious level we feel that whoever could make such a marvellous spectacle, with all his power and wisdom, must surely be able to offer us hope for the future. Whatever the case, I certainly feel better on a sunny day and the marvellous spectacle of such a heavenly body always takes me out of my own puny world and it reminds me that someone with immense power and wisdom will surely not leave us on our own.
I just love that in the evening in the summertime You can wait 'til past eleven just to watch the sun go down Then as if the hand of God Himself would paint the sky See the fiery flames around it - as it melts on the horizon And welcomes all the stars
From the early morning to the shiny moon Daybreak and daylight give peace and hope On the waves of wheat - Yeah on the shiny sea Sunshine and God's rays will help me cope.
I just love that in the morning in the summertime It's so early when the sun awakes to warm the window pane and there's something 'bout the joy up in that clear blue sky Makes it easy to imagine all of mankind's wounds will vanish. There'll be a healing of the scars
From the early morning to the shiny moon Daybreak and daylight give peace and hope On the waves of wheat - Yeah on the shiny sea Sunshine and God's rays will help me cope.
Gonna take some time just to enjoy the sky. Every sunny hour fills me more with power.
From the early morning to the shiny moon Daybreak and daylight give peace and hope On the waves of wheat - Yeah on the shiny sea Sunshine and God's rays will help me cope.
And even in the shortness of that winter day There's still a brief reminder that the sun will never frown Just makes it far more precious still in every way There's hope on the horizon - If you can keep your eyes on Times ahead not far.
From the early morning to the shiny moon Daybreak and daylight give peace and hope On the waves of wheat - Yeah on the shiny sea Sunshine and God's rays will help you cope.

9. Humpty Dumpty Built A Wall

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

Composer's Note: Despite the reference to Humpty Dumpty here, this is not a children's song. Rather, it uses a play on the words of children's nursery rhymes to reflect on the serious nature of malformed personalities due to childhood trauma.
Humpty Dumpty had a fall so Humpty Dumpty built a wall All the horses and the men would never hurt poor Dumpty again. Mary had to build a dam now Mary's quiet as a lamb And everywhere her thoughts will go they're stained as scarlet on the snow.
Skip high - skip low - Where did your youth go? Now high or low - try not let the glue show through.
Life turned out hard for Bo-Peep When she lost more than her sheep All she wanted was a home but always ends up on her own. Little girls and little boys should be here to play with toys But No more sugar - no more spice - 'cause someone's taken all things nice.
Skip high - skip low - Where did your youth go? Now high or low - try not let the blues show through.
Humpty Dumpty had a fall so Humpty Dumpty built a wall All the horses and the men would never hurt poor Dumpty again. Humpty Dumpty had a fall so Humpty Dumpty built a wall (repeat)

10. Learning To Love

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

Composer's Note: You might imagine that such a powerful thing as love would be something we know instinctively from birth. Sadly that's not the case. And in some ways, from an early age, we are 'led up the garden path' by the media that it should be easy. Even romantic love can often be portrayed in song or film as something that happens quite naturally and seems effortless. When you consider the Bible's description of love, it can be dauntingly obvious just how much there is to learn. For most people growing up in today's unloving world, it can even be a battle to overcome the first hurdle - to love oneself, and then others. And it can also be a challenge to love when there is no love returned. It's true; love never fails.
Still talking with an open heart - open like the sunshine -beaming out in rays Still walking on the narrow road - but with a lighter load - I'm hoping for some new days
And I'm free now - 'cause I'm learning to love you without pain - for no gain. I can be me now - learning to love - love me, love you, love life.
Still praying for you night and day - sending out an angel where I cannot go. Still hoping somewhere down the line your heart will start to shine - I'm hoping for a rainbow.
But I'm free now 'cause I'm learning to give for giving sake - not to take I can believe now - learning to love - love me, love you, love life.
I still can't abandon my heart's strong conviction - laid solid when I fell into your eyes I felt your love when through my lonely heart's eviction - You took me in and painted rainbows in my skies.
And I'm free now - 'cause I'm learning to love you without pain - for no gain. I can be me now - learning to love - love me, love you, love life.

11. Needs Must

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

As I need my food for hunger, and my drink to quench my thirst, the air I breathe, my songs to sing, I need your love the worst. As I need my sleep to slumber, to rest and work and play, I need (but with a passion) to be by your side each day.
What good is it for me to see, hear, touch, taste and smell, without your face, voice, hand and lips, and scent I know so well?
As I need my dreams to wonder, to soar up as a dove, to save my soul when I'm falling fast, I hold on to your love. As the lightning comes with thunder, and the dawn awakes with dew, So deep within, you're part of me. I was surely born for you.
What good is it for me to see, hear, touch, taste and smell, without your face, voice, hand and lips, and scent I know so well? What good is it for me to see, hear, touch, taste and smell, without your face, voice, hand and lips, and scent I know so well?
So come softly sweet and warm my love. Let me feel your smiling face. I need your tender words, your laugh, your love and warm embrace. I need your tender words, your laugh, your love and warm embrace.

12. Wait And Listen

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

I was walking along the sidewalk when I heard a mournful cry But I still decided to walk on by I was tempted into turning - couldn't quite determine why I could feel the hesitation - should I ..
Wait and listen? - turn and see? Wait and listen? - Who could it be?
I could barely make the words out - "No you mustn't go that way (you mustn't go that way) - you must face the right direction today "
Wait and listen - turn and see Wait and listen - You could be free"
So I turned but for a moment just to give the creature peace Now my countenance grew paler and I went weak at the knees! 'Cause it turned out - that I was facing myself! Yes it turned out it was me! Now it turned out - I had been facing death! (you were facing death) Now it turns out - now I'm free! (now you're free)
So while you walk along the sidewalk, should you hear a mournful cry Don't you hesitate to listen or you'll die Don't you hesitate to listen or you'll die (If you don't listen you'll die)

13. Safe And Warm

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

Safe and warm - when you calm my storm If your heart could see - If you choose to be with me. I will be safe and calm - embraced in your arms On the far side of your fear I'm still waiting here - be mine.
Alone again and thinking of you. Once again I'm thinking for you Wish you loved me - if you loved me
I would feel safe and warm - when you calm my storm If your heart could see - If you choose to be with me. I will be safe and calm - embraced in your arms On the far side of your fear I'm still waiting here - be mine.
Gaze into the stars above you - count them - that's how much I love you Don't be afraid - love's how we're made
Please hold me safe and warm with you.

14. You See Nothing

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

Mister - when you look into her eyes - can you see past all the lines If you don't you see nothing - no you see nothing - nothing at all And hey sister - there's no way to read my mind There's a lot more me inside And this shell is just nothing - no simply nothing - nothing at all.
There she goes over there with those looks - golden hair All the men want to be by her side But there's more to that book - open up take a look. There's a beautiful person inside.
Hey - Mister - when you look into her eyes - can you see past all the lines If you don't you see nothing - no you see nothing - nothing at all And hey sister - there's no way to read my mind There's a lot more me inside And this shell is just nothing - no simply nothing - nothing at all.
(You should look ___ ) You should look for truth in her heart (Beauty hides ___) You should search for beauty that hides (Take the time ___) Take the time, discover her soul All the rest fades away with time.
Hey - Mister - when you look into her eyes - can you see past all the lines If you don't you see nothing - no you see nothing - nothing at all
'til you open the book and then you take a look you see nothing - nothing at all
(repeat and fade)

15. Keep Looking Up

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

Composer's Note: After enjoying a circus performance and thinking back on the trapeze and high wire walker - it occurred to me that in life we don't have the advantage of a safety net - we only get one chance and we have to just give it our best shot. But if we don't take any chances be it in relationships or whatever, we may find ourselves hiding from life. Life is not a spectator sport (Despite what TV programs like Big Brother might like you to think). We have to make serious choices and often with serious consequences if we get it wrong. Speaking as someone who has slipped more times than stayed up, I can only say the best we can do is keep looking (up) to our creator for guidance as we go.
Flying high and swinging fast - lots of room to slip Hope he catches with a grasp - on the second flip. For what's worth the most in the real world the best you're gonna get Is just one chance to get it right there is no safety net ..
And it's a long way down - it's a long way down - It's a long way down if you mess it up. It's a long way down - It's a long way down It's a long way down - so keep lookin' up.
It may be alright on the night - or maybe with mistakes finally he gets it right after twenty takes For what's worth the most in the real world the best you're gonna do is get it right the first time round there is no second queue.
Just a long way down - it's a long way down - It's a long way down - so keep lookin' up.
Some would like to wait back stage away from all the strife But while they're hiding in their cage are missing out on life But what's worth the most is living life and the only real regret is a 'no risk life' which is no life and before you know you're set ..
For a long lay down - for a long lay down For a long lay down and no getting up. It's a long way down - It's a long way down It's a long way down - so keep lookin' up. Keep lookin' up (3)

16. Tuck Me In (Lullaby For Grown-Ups)

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

Composer's Note: This song embraces the thought from Ecclesiastes, that "two are better than one". At some time or other any of us can feel overwhelmed or just too tired to face today's trials. At such a time a partner who, not just understands us and makes allowances but comforts and protects us is an invaluable friend. We are grateful of their help and know we will do the same for them when they need us.
There were times when my courage could move a mountain Today it up-n-died - and now I need to hide While you stand guard and chase the world away .. (instrumental)
Let The Dance Begin

1. Let The Dance Begin

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

It was a quiet wee town – but then that’s why I came here And it’s central to all the Northwest. I came up from the city because these fields are pretty And I prefer life in the countryside best.
But it’s growin’, it’s growin', – no sign of it slowin’. More houses, more driveways – more lawns to be mowin’. Commuters from Derry and Omagh will buy if they can. It’s growin’ what once was the quiet wee town of Strabane.
“Let the dance begin” – when you drive in from Lifford, as five metal skeletons shine all alone. Where barbed wire and soldiers once stood in your way giants play and they dance as they welcome you home.
But it’s growin’ – it’s changin’ – the roads re-arranging The builders can’t hear for the sound of the engines. There was talk of a ‘Riverine Project’ – they've now mapped a plan. It’s growin’ what once was the quiet wee town of Strabane.
But a mile out of town you can still hear the sound of the cattle and sheep on the hill. With the sunset on fire you can’t help but admire the lush green hills and valleys – that’s why I’m here still.
There was a time you could watch all the trains to-and-froin' as the whistle would blow rolling down Railway Street. Later boys did the whistling – the girls they were listening outside Katy Daly’s – but now they all tweet.
Yes it’s growin’ – it’s louder – at night is more proud or at least it seems busy – more youth in the crowd now McDonald’s drive-through beside ASDA is day and night manned. It’s growin’ what once was the quiet wee town of Strabane.
Not I’ll ever leave – but I can hardly believe that I left my own city to live where it’s pretty, now they’re building a city ’round me!

2. One More Love Story

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

I was cold and for love I was hungry when your love came and touched me so deep. I was sad and alone, had made a prison of home and so frightened to set my heart free. I was once in a love that was precious, but then a lie came to steal it away. Can my heart live again? I gave so much then. Am I ready to give it today?
It’s one more love story. Should I play my part? In one more love story _____ Should I surrender and give you my heart?
I could see you had real good intentions. And I was happy when you came around. But while you felt so high with your head in the sky, I was trying to stay on the ground.
One more love story – it hurts more and more even thinking of the past. And all my love stories had all sad endings. Will this one – will this one really last?
Then in time you had really convinced me. Yeah I was ready to love you at last. Why should I wait and weep and let my heart sleep? It’s no joy living in the past.
It’s one more love story and I must play my part in one more love story, I surrender and give you my heart. I surrender – with all of my heart

3. It Ain't All Hunky-dory

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

From the time that she could talk – always ran before she walked, And always after someone out of reach. And even when her daddy died, something touched her deep inside, because she never felt his love for real.
No it ain’t all hunky-dory – when the lovin’ only comes from you. Hear my call – hear my story; Gettin’ nothing back can make you blue.
Her boyfriend said he’d meet her here – said to her; “Now have no fear”. He said their love was much too strong to break. Well all night long she sat alone, and later cried, when on the phone he said their love was just a sad mistake!
No it ain’t all hunky-dory – when the lovin’ only comes from you. Hear my call – hear my story; Gettin’ nothing back can make you blue.
So many times it ended sad. Lonely, feeling much too bad – Tried to hope – but it was all a dream. She decided to herself, best to hide upon the shelf, when she found out that love ain’t what it seems.
No it ain’t all hunky-dory – when the lovin’ only comes from you. Hear my call – hear my story; Gettin’ nothing back can make you blue.
So if you’re gonna give your heart – If you’re lovin’ from the start, just make sure it’s comin’ back your way. If you’re goin’ through that gate, think before it gets too late. I’ve been there and this is what i say . . . (Instrumental)
No it ain’t all hunky-dory – when the lovin’ only comes from you. Hear my call – hear my story; I said gettin’ nothing back can make you blue. Yeah gettin’ nothing back can make you blue.

4. A Man Named Martin

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

I know a man named Martin – When he paints, he puts his heart in. Always willing to take part in – Always ready with a smile. And he’s handy with a banjo – has a voice sweet as a mango Spent some time across in Glasgow and Ontario for a while.
And he’s happy teaching others how to paint Pretty flowers and a cottage oh so quaint In this pain-filled world all art is a fine reminder God is love – helps us agree; we should be kinder.
I know a man named Martin – learned his craft in Kindergarten. Walls with murals he can smarten – in his own artistic style. And he likes to bang a beat-box – It doubles up as a wee seat-box Everybody says the beat rocks and his winsome words beguile.
And he’s happy teaching others how to paint Pretty Plumbridge hills and valleys oh so quaint In this hate-filled world all art is a fine reminder God is love – helps us agree; we should be kinder. (instrumental)
But there’s even more when viewed in panorama Not just art and music – he also does some drama!
Still he’s happy teaching others how to paint bringing peace and love and joy without restraint In this lonely world all art is a fine reminder God is love – helps us agree; we should be kinder. When this world is cruel, this song is a fine reminder; God is love – helps us agree; we should be kinder.

5. It's OK To Talk

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

It’s OK to talk – It’s really good to talk. It’s better to talk than to hide behind a grin. It’s OK to cry – It can be really good to cry. Yes it’s better to cry than to hold it all in.
How’s it worked out for you so far, saying nothing to anyone? Is your heart rising up or constricted and strained? If you only talk to yourself can you really find answers – while your dark thoughts are twisted, in turmoil and in pain?
So it’s OK to talk – It’s really good to talk. Step out of that treadmill – that prison within. It’s OK to try – though it’s really hard to try. It’s better to try than give up and give in.
Some thoughts are destructive. The rot can build up. No one sees on the outside the damage within. Silent sadness is poison you need to throw up. Better talk to release it – Better outside than in.
I know all you want now is relief from the pain, and you may not see how you can cope with the strain. It may not seem like it now but things will soon change. Each day sunrise returns but it’s never the same!
Yes it’s OK to talk – It’s really good to talk. Release all that poison that’s under your skin. It’s OK to try – though it’s really hard to try. But it’s better to try than give up and give in. It’s better to try than give up . . . Don’t give up – don’t give in.
Yes it’s OK to talk – It’s really good to talk ooh ooh ooh.

6. Start All Over Again

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

Have you ever met someone and got off on the wrong foot? If it was a movie, that’s when you would have said “cut” You’re sinking in your sorrow and thinking maybe you should just start all over again.
It’s just like a morning you wake up with a sore head. You’ve been sleeping all night but you're not feeling rested. You got out the wrong side, so back you go to your bed to start all over again.
Well it’s the same old thing in a love situation, I never seem to get it right. Just like the times I’d argue and talk without thinkin’, when i really ought to hold you tight. So if you’re sad at heart and feeling you’re driftin’, just go back to the start, you’re heart you’ll be liftin’. You should step back then take a deep breath and hold it….. And start all over again. Just start all over again.
There’s not one that fell in love and got it right the first time. If at first you don’t succeed then better joy the next time. There’s a way to make your day so you can see the sunshine, just start all over again.
(Instrumental)

8. Thanks To All Those In Search And Rescue

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

Composer's Note: "Tall Fescue" is the name of a particular type of grass. This grass is a very persistent grass. It is very winter hardy and can be grown successfully on a wide range of soils. While it is a high protein sustenance for livestock, "Tall Fescue" is also sown specifically to prevent devastating soil erosion. In a similar way, hope and courage provide sustenance and are essential to preventing the devastating erosion of the human spirit; our will to carry on. Just knowing there is a dedicated team working hard in the rescue can provide such courage..
Sometimes even those once strong with hearts of joy most every day, may feel weak, they fall and stumble; in the dark they lose their way. If that was you or one of yours I’m sure you’d like an out-stretched hand Friends to rescue you with kindness, raise you up so you can stand.
Thanks to all those in Search and Rescue We have friends to light the way They will struggle and get through – we can live another day Thanks to all those in Search and Rescue We have help – we’re not alone Like the strong and Tall Fescue our hope and courage now has grown.
We need a team of workers – not just willing but ready They’re kind and trained to give support to those who feel unsteady. They will brave the rocks and rivers night or day in weather bleak Volunteers who give their time to help search out and save the weak
Thanks to all those in Search and Rescue We have friends to light the way They will struggle and get through – we can live another day Thanks to all those in Search and Rescue We have help – we’re not alone Like the strong and Tall Fescue our hope and courage now has grown.
Hold on! – Stay strong! You should hold on! – Help is on the way! Instrumental
Thanks to all those in Search and Rescue We have friends to light the way They will struggle and get through – we can live another day Thanks to all those in Search and Rescue We have help – we’re not alone Like the strong and Tall Fescue our hope and courage now has grown.
hanks to all those in Search and Rescue – if we don’t support them we might lose them. Thanks to all those in Search and Rescue – Let’s pray we never have to use them!

9. Your Wounds Will Heal With Time

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

You hear all the sad lines in every love song And even the sunshine; sometimes it too can make you cry. Your heart should be healing but it’s taking so long You still have that feeling and you wonder why
Just when you think there’s an end to the pain, you’re heart is aching again But don’t worry; your wounds will heal with time.
You think it’s the first time a heart has been broken And yours is the only love that’s been left to die
Just when you think you're finally sane, you’re heart is aching again But don’t worry; your wounds will heal with time.
Yes I’ve been there too and all I can say is . . Let God help you through – meanwhile keep the faith.
When you’ve been mistreated – used like a token You feel you’ve been cheated, but in the by and by
Soon there’ll be an end to the pain, you will be happy again. So don’t worry; your wounds will heal with time. Soon there’ll be an end to the pain, you will be happy again. So don’t worry; your wounds will heal with time.

10. I Want A Real Moon

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

ust like a moth around a flame at night, I was absolutely wrong and I was dying in the process while I wrote it down in song. Still, I’d keep coming back for the burning, if I didn’t wake real soon and learn; to navigate, it’s going to take a real moon.
I want a real moon – I want a real moon If it’s not too late to navigate – I want a real moon.
We had a talk about our feelings and she was absolutely right and soon the time had slipped away and so her day became our night Upon the rocks the ship can be wrecked and your heart will be marooned Unless within your sight is the guiding light of a real moon.
I want a real moon – I want a real moon If it’s not too late to navigate – I want a real moon.
Just take the good and then forget about the bad You’ll be far more sane to know that everyone is mad.
I want to ask someone directions – just to be absolutely sure or at least relieve the symptoms if for now there is no cure. And if it’s true “No man’s an Island”; Well then I’ve run too far too soon. No artificial light will guide me right – I need a real moon.
I want a real moon – I want a real moon If it’s not too late to navigate – I want a real moon. Instrumental
I want a real moon – I want a real moon If it’s not too late to navigate – I want a real moon. I want a real moon – I want a real moon If it’s not too late to navigate – I want a real moon.

11. I Don't Want To Lose Your Love

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

Can a man be so happy – and yet be so afraid Every day is adventure – and a man can be made or lose all love he tries to save. Do I really deserve you? – girl you’re so good for me. I will always stay close to you – how can I make you see while locked in your arms I still feel free.
I don’t want to use your love – that’s my greatest fear But I don’t want to lose your love – and drown in my tears I’ve lost so much of a tender a touch – I could lose you.
Like the days and the seasons – I will always remain ‘Though I don’t have a reason – I keep seeing the rain while the sun keeps on shining my heart’s in pain
I don’t want to use your love – that’s my greatest fear But I don’t want to lose your love – and drown in my tears I’ve lost so much of a tender a touch – I could lose you.
I don’t want to use your love – that’s my greatest fear But I don’t want to lose your love – and drown in my tears I’ve lost so much of a tender a touch – I could lose you.
Ooh you know I love you love you baby You – you’re so good for me –  good for me Ooh don’t you know I love you love you baby You’re so good for me You’re so good for me

13. Daddy and Daughter Song (You’re Never Alone)

Words and Music By Brendan Vincent Owens • www.BVOwens.co.uk

(Daddy sings) If ever I am not around I want you to know how much I care This song can be your comfort sound so you can dream and feel as though I’m still there. And when you hear me sing this song, you’ll soon recall my warm embrace How I held you tight in our squishy hug, and rubbed my cheek on your smiling face.
No you’re never lone when you hear my song These notes will hold the memory of my love No you’re never alone even if I’m away Sing this song until I’m home with you some day
(Daughter sings) If ever I am not around, I want you to know I miss you Daddy This song will be your comfort sound to remember how I would kiss you Daddy And how we played ‘can’t catch me’ with my teddies talking in my bed How you prayed at night, and then sang me to sleep, and you planted sweet dreams in my head.
No you’re never alone when you hear my song These words will hold the memory of my love No you’re never alone even if I’m away Sing this song until I’m home with you some day
(Bridge: Daddy & Daughter sing together) So while we can, let’s make some memories, so we can recall them if need be. If we have to part, these words and melody will hold us close as we sing in harmony. (Instrumental)
No you’re never alone when you hear my song These words will hold the memory of my love No you’re never alone even if I’m away Sing this song until I’m home with you some day
This is our song.
